If you’re a fan of Spike Jonze (director of Where The Wild Things Are) you might’ve heard of his attempts of short films, notably his latest, I’m Here.
What’s basically a 35 minute long extended music video, turns out to be much more, much to my pleasant surprise. The treatment of the film is beautiful, the characters are quite distinct given the timespan, and there really is a storyline, or at least a message behind it. Personally I loved the soundtrack, it’s rather indie, but has this dreamy-floaty feel to it that goes really well with the treatment of the film. Also, all you artsy-fartsy types will love the robots and their costumes, tres cool.
